Purpose

care-logo_194The CARE Ministry provides Congregational Assistance Resources and Encouragement. The CARE team responds to needs within the church originating from the Prayer Chain, staff, elders or deacons, or members of the DCC Community. Although CARE primarily handles needs within DCC, outside needs are also occasionally considered.

Common Needs

The CARE team responds to needs and situations with cards, visitation, meals, CARE baskets, child care or by putting a call out to the DCC community. Additionally, the CARE team assists with stocking the Meals Ministry freezer and providing a Christmas outreach program for our DCC members in need through our CARE Tree. Life Groups can also contact CARE for assistance with coordinating service opportunities.

CARE responds to situations like new babies, long-term illness, surgery, moving, difficult family situations, loss of a family member, financial needs, etc. by discreetly providing help and support or coordinating with DCC members to provide that help and support.

Getting Involved

Consider getting involved by:

  • Serving on the CARE Team. Contact the CARE Team leaders for info.
  • Joining the CARE/Meals Ministry Group (requires login) to receive notifications to help with meals or other needs that arise.
  • Volunteering: Contact CARE and offer your area of service, indicate any skills you have that might be helpful, or volunteer to do visitation.
  • Donations: Donations are also needed for our CARE baskets (teas, books, bath and beauty items or new baby items).
