Jesus Christ is the king and head of the Church. He leads his church, in part, through the "servant leadership" of its officers: elders and deacons. Each officer is nominated by the congregation, undergoes extensive training, is examined by the current elders to determine if qualified to serve, is elected by the congregation, and ordained by the current elders to serve the church.
Elders are responsibile for the government and spiritual oversight of the church, teaching and shepherding its people, and modeling for them the Christian life and mission. There are two classes of elders: teaching elders (pastors) and ruling elders (laymen). When they meet together, they are called the "session" of the church. Both teaching and ruling elders represent our church in the broader denomination at the regional (presbytery) and national (General Assembly) levels.
Deacons are responsible for overseeing the physical and spiritual care for the needs of the people and the church facilities and budget. Our deacons are organized into three ministry teams.

Two of our elders, Mike Heisser and Ben Wilking, also serve on the Budget & Finance Committe.
