We’re so glad you’re interested in checking out DCC. We’re a community that’s all about helping people learn what it means to follow Jesus, and our community consists of people all along the spectrum, from those investigating Christianity to those new to the faith to those who have been trying to learn what it means to follow him for many years now. You’re welcome wherever you are at on your own spiritual journey.

Here's some information you might find helpful as you consider joining us on a Sunday morning.

Sunday Morning Schedule

More information on each of these ministries is provided below, but here's the overall schedule:

  • 8:45..... Educational Hour for children, youth, and adults
  • 10:00... Worship

Worship

What is worship like?

You can expect a relaxed atmosphere, upbeat music, and solid, biblical teaching. The service typically lasts an hour and fifteen minutes. Our worship style is primarily “contemporary” while seeking to respect, learn from, and incorporate aspects of how the church has worshipped throughout history. See our Philosophy of Worship for more information or, if you’d like, listen to a recent sermon ahead of time.

Will I have to sign in, give, or be singled out in any way?

We won’t ask you to identify yourself as new or as a visitor. In an attempt to make ourselves available to you, you’ll have the opportunity to fill out an attendance slip if you wish to let us know you were here or desire specific information, but that is totally optional. There is also a Welcome Table in the Lobby where guests can request more information about the church and meet some of our pastors and staff, but you may remain anonymous if you wish to. If after several weeks you think you might want to get connected, we encourage you to introduce yourself to our staff and/or let us know you are here. We often have a time of "greeting" during the service for people to say "hi" to each other, but this is just a way of being friendly and greeting everyone who is there, not just visitors.

One aspect of our service is an opportunity for those committed to the church to give financially as an act of worship and devotion to God. This money supports the ministry of the church, including our service to our community and other parts of the world. This occurs during the “Offering” portion of the service. As a visitor, you are not expected to contribute any money to the church.

What should I wear?

We like to focus more on the people than on what they are wearing. Simply dress how you’re comfortable, and you will be fine. Most of us are pretty casual overall: people wear everything from jeans and a T-shirt to business casual.

Children & Youth

Your children are welcome to stay with you throughout the worship service, but we also have ministries geared toward kids that you may want to take advantage of.

Infants-Toddlers

A Nursery is located upstairs near the Sanctuary for children 0-2 years old. It also contains a separate room for nursing mothers.

The Nursery is available the entire morning, beginning with the Educational Hour (8:45) through the worship service (10:00).

Preschoolers

The 2/3 and 4/5 Year Old classes meet in their classrooms downstairs during the entire worship service (beginning at 10:00). Parents sign in and check out their students from these rooms.

K-5th Grade

Students meet downstairs for the entire worship service (beginning at 10:00), starting in the Multipurpose Room for worship "kid style" and are then dismissed with their classroom leaders for Bible study and relationship building for their age groups.

Junior High & High School

Youth (6th-12th grades) worship with their families during the worship service as integrated participants in the life of the church.

During the Educational Hour (8:45), youth meet upstairs in the Conference Room with our Youth Pastor for a time of fellowship and learning. They are also encouraged to participate in our Students Ministry during the week. We are embarking on a semester long study of the book of Mark.  We will meet at 8:45 for a time of community (free Starbucks pastries!) and then time to dive in to the Bible.  Students are encouraged to bring their bible, and a pen or pencil.

Adults

The "Adult Learning Center" (ALC), 8:45-9:45

The ALC classes explore the Bible, the doctrines of our faith, and various topics, all in an effort to learn and live out God's calling for our lives.

The Nursery and classes for our kids are offered during this time for infants through High School.

Joint Ventures (Marriage Group), 8:45-9:45

Joint Ventures address all the common and pressing issues that couples face in their marriages in a discussion format where everyone participates in dialogue as we seek to understand God's perspective together on the issue.

Nursery and childcare is offered during this time.
